Team Tokey Hill Hits Nationals Hard

Team Tokey Hill had an outstanding performance at the USA-NKF National Championships,July 12-15 in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. The students had a formidable coaching crew including Sensei Christina Muccini, Sensei Billy Finegan, Sensei Bret Sinclair, Sensei Brian Ramrup, Sensei Yusuf Tuncel, and Sensei Ashley Hill. The team came ready to deliver in kumite, and that is what they did. Ashley Hill took silver and qualified for the Senior National Team. Calogero Torretta qualified for both the Senior and Junior National Team with silver and gold respectively. Ryan Whelan also qualified for the junior National Team with a silver medal. Kristalle Sharma also grabbed bronze qualifying for the Junior Team and took home a gold and the title of national champion. Karrington Sharma took Bronze in the 12-year-old intermediate division. Gianna Torretta took silver in the 10-year-old novice division. Ethan Wachsman won individual gold in the 9-year-old advanced division and the title of national champion as well as team gold in 8-9 year old division. James Whelan and Ileyda Karrababa fought hard and looked great. Overall, the team took home 5 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze. Way to go Tokey Hill!
